    Re: Lighscribe 4L-gui on 13.04 64bit

Okay, so right after posting I started to investigate more possible libstdc++.so.5 issues. I do have it installed, but it appears that in ubuntu 13.04 the default library search path is different...

    Lighscribe 4L-gui on 13.04 64bit

    Hi everyone,
I've been using the LaCie 4L-gui program for years now on my ubuntu 64 installs. I recently updated to 13.04 Raring from 12.10 and it has stopped working. The SimpleLabler still...
  3. [ubuntu] Re: Keyboard shortcuts not working over rdesktop?

Just upgraded to 12.04 and I'm seeing the same thing. I use the rdesktop command directly. Where I used to be able to force it to full screen and it would intercept alt-tab, win-* bindings, it...
  4. [SOLVED] Re: Driver compile problem with autoconf.h and version.h

Ganton, Thanks for the guide! I now have a working internal PCI modem card using the Conexant chipset.

  5. [ubuntu] Re: Couldn't execute command: evolution Verify that this is a valid command

Thanks Andy. You nailed the concern correctly. I also was having the same problem. I do have evolution installed so no error message, but just don't want it to start when I plug-in the AC adapter.

Re: Howto: Backup and restore your system!

The tar file itself stores your permissions. You can place the tar file on any type of file system you want without effecting the contents.

Re: Howto: Backup and restore your system!

Great tutorial. Due to disk space constraints, I needed to export the tar to an external drive that is fat32 formated. If this hasn't been posted already, thought I would share how to get around...

Re: How to: ReadyBoost with Ubuntu Linux

Not an expert, but here is how I understand it. SWAP is an extension of your RAM on to disk. Disk Cache would be a copy of some of your Disk in to memory (RAM, FLASH, etc). So say you are running...

Re: How to: ReadyBoost with Ubuntu Linux

See that is the confusion I think. Readyboost has little do with memory management or swap (please correct if wrong), it is a disk cache. Granted it 'might' do some cacheing of your swap file, but...

Re: How to: ReadyBoost with Ubuntu Linux

From what I read, Vista's readyboost isn't making use of the flash drive for swap. It is using it as a disk cache for frequently accessed files. There is a difference if I understand this all...
  13. Re: [REPO] Upgrade your EDGY to Xorg 7.2 - a new X server for "stable" version

Hi Trevino, Curious, did the latest Mesa update address the EXA bugs some of us have been seeing or is that specific to x.org?
  14. Re: Howto: [Edgy] Fix random xgl crashes with Mobility Radeon 9000 + fglrx

    Hello Misha,
I've noticed that ATI dropped support for the 9000 a couple releases ago. Are you using the last supported driver for the 9000, 8.28.8 or are you still able to use the newer versions...
  15. Re: HOWTO: enable 3d acceleration w/ Rage Mobility (mach64)

Ally_S, your updated ati_pcigart.c did the trick for me with Edgy and a "01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Rage Mobility P/M AGP 2x (rev 64)".

    I am getting a
