I haven't had any luck. Although, I did find awhile back that Sabayon 5.4 didn't have this problem... so I'm trying out Sabayon 5.5 to see if it will still work.

I'm wondering something... is this the same driver that we've been using or is this something else? I just noticed it on Intel's driver page not too long ago:...
AMD... especially after the GMA 500 mess that I encountered with my netbook... ](*,) Right now, I'm using an old Athlon XP system but am hoping to build this:...
hmm, interesting... many are saying that we may see GMA 500 drivers from Intel with the advent of the Moorestown chipset... and considering that the first moorestown smart phones are set for the...
Well, even though I am using Jolicloud, I found something that has boost performance and responsiveness of general applications and the netbook launcher. I have found that if you install this...
hmm... has there been any news about this new driver that uses gallium? Just wondering because they're saying that performance will shoot up... or is the driver we have it?
in the power manager thingy, you can adjust the brigtness. I usually have my system setup to dim the screen when it's idle for a small amount of time. The key thing is a keyboard issue, and of all...

I fixed my own problem. Just had to upgrade the kernal... though the poulsbo drivers threw a small fit, otherwise, sound, video, wireless... just about everything is working except for power...
I have two pairs of normal headphones. Both do the same things. This problem just came suddenly. Prior to, I was trying to fix the problem created by the timer line in the alsa-base.conf file....
lol, sorry, wasn't thinking. I meant power_save. That line you posted is the one you have to split.
I'm just wondering with sound... it's a pain and when I use headphones it only mutes the right speaker with sound coming from the right headphone, however sound comes from the left speaker and there...
I haven't found any info on this whatsoever... I'm seriously hoping this is fixed by 10.04 at the latest.
it's because of the timer line in the alsa-base.conf file. You have to split the line and comment out the 2nd half... I'm having a problem similar to what mac users are having now... headphones don't...
Also, "headphone" not listed in alsamixer.
I got this netbook as a present, installed netbook remix on this, and cannot figure out how to get the headphones to mute the built in speakers when I have them plugged in. This problem came out of...
