I have a couple of these cards coming in the mail, I will let you know if I run into similar issues.
Hi, I wanted to ask if anyone had personal experience with these cards. They are pretty new and have only been out for a couple of months. I have tried to find people's experience with them but there...
boot up with your new hard drive installed and install a program called gparted. You should be able to find your hardrive and mount it with that, if not post here again with what it gives you. Also...
I've been using wine 64bit for the most part since 10.04 beta, it's perfectly usable, especially for wow. I've gotten framerates about the same and lower latency on wow with wine for some time now. ...
have you tried this ppa?
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:adilson/experimental
There is an error with the deb from the boxee site it won't accept a newer package of one of the dependencies. Someone made a modified deb that will work.

I'm just curious, at this point why would somone try and run it on wine instead of using the linux version?
I understand that everyone has their own opinion, but if you are going to steer him away from an i-5 please don't compare apples to oranges. The clarkdale i-5s that came out last year only had 2...
Sounds like you tried to do everything at once. Try installing the driver and rebooting before you mess with compiz at all. This way you can see if it's a compiz problem or a driver problem.
well a geforce 460 is about $220, but a single card would be an upgrade over the performance of your current system and you would be able to achive your stated goals.
Ok, I've read through this thread and several others, but I can't seem to find how to do what I want to do. On my system I have the stable version of ubuntu on sda1 and the testing version on sda3,...
No way that I know of, Sony kinda gave us the finger on this one.
I understand the outrage about someone not answering your question directly, but sometimes the correct question isn't asked. Instead of asking the question:
"How do I get the windows version of...
If anything it would make more sense to involve google. Chrome OS and android are increasing visibility for linux more than ubuntu will ever be able to.
I'm having the same exact problem with a core i3 based desktop. I'm no expert but I've definetly worked through a lot of problems on ubuntu, but I'e been unable to find a solution or a workaround. ...
Ok I've been using wine and ubuntu for a couple years now. I have a core i3 desktop processor with the integrated graphics. Everything seems to be working fine, I have the latest intel drivers and...
This is a server side issue, not a wine or linux issue.
I confirm the Mangler, the release client was released last week, and it works better for me than vent ever did, and I didn't have to tweak anything, just install it and good to go. They even have a...
I don't understand why people want to just complain, you're using linux, so try to use linux apps, there are a couple torrent programs that use the same backend as utorrent, just with a differnt...
also are you using the beta or stable branch of wine? I've noticed improved performance and less crashes with the beta. Also the nvidia version that ships with karmic is 185.18.36, so it might be...
most people whining about gnome shell havn't actually tried it, pretty sad. But it's more of a replacement for compiz for the uninformed. If you have a dock and compiz you should check and see...
Ubuntu isn't bad, lol. Check out

I personally go with the xfce version though.
since they released a version of chrome where you can enable plugins I find myself using chrome 95% of the time, seems faster than ff or opera.
just curious, you're using 180.xx drivers, the 185.xx are much more stable I think, may help with your problem.
just point your link to the wow.exe on your other drive.
