    Uninstall Evolution, Install Thunderbird

When I try to remove Evolution Mail in the Software Center it just thinks and never begins to uninstall. When I try to force remove from Terminal it says:

"Unable to lock the administration directory (/var/lib/dpkg/), is another process using it?"

I have looked everywhere I know of, being a new Linux user, trying to find where the process may still be running or being used from and I do not know where to go from here.

Any ideas? I know it's something simple, I'm just not familiar enough with it to find it yet.

    Thanks!

Sounds like you are running two package managers at the same time. Close all bar one down and try removing again..
