Angry Installation Help for jbook G4..HELP HELP HELP

    Hi,

    Please help!!!!

I have downloaded the PPC version of ubuntu and burnt onto a CD, now somehow I have enabled the open firmware on the ibook...when I boo the machine it goes to that white screen(open firmware) and I type boot cd,:\\:tbxi it picks the installation and runs the live CD..

then I see install ubuntu icon..i double click it and it starts the 7 step processs...and I select clean the entire har disk and install it option...when the wizards completes on 7th step...and I press finish/install...

the screen comes up with multiple colors and some randome lines across the screen, seems halted or froze...then after a couple of minutes it boots again into open firmware...

I have no idea what needs to be done, very very new to ubuntu and frst time installation...
is there a way to format the HDD throu Open firmware and install???
if I don't boot through CD the folder icon with question mark keeps blinking....

ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...

Please tell us the exact iBook G4 you have. We need to know the screen size and the graphics card. What you need is a working xorg.conf file, and you'll be set.
