variety wallpaper changer on enlightenment

I have installed enlightenment 0.26 on my ubuntu22.04, and added Variety wallpaper changer to startup applications, but it does not work. It does work on openbox and other desktop environments. Best Regards,

How did you install Enlightenment?
Are you running E on Wayland or X11?

Variety works fine on my system (I don't use the Enlightenment .deb packages though):
