Backing up bookmarks in .json format ?

Hello all.

By every upgrade, I save all my bookmarks to a thumb drive in .json format.
Tried now; only .html shows as option.
Read instructions on several web places; they all show and teach the process to do it assumming I use Firefox. -That is annoying...

Looking for your assistance, better if from console/terminal to save / backup all bookmarks file onto desktop and then I will copy / move to USB drive. I use Brave only. A couple of years ago, some bookmarks may have been saved using other browsers. If that caused a problem.

Digging and digging, learned something.
Backed up the bookmarks in .html format onto the desktop as I found no option to do it as .json and preferred to have something instead of nothing.
Looking at its files; the list heading starts with "MozillaFirefox" (folder).
All the bookmarks made with the last year Brave browser show at the end of the list but with no heading of 'Brave' folder.
I believe there is a hidden way somewhere to translate from .html to .json. Will dig deeper, perhaps will find such.
