I got America's Army (v 2.8.3) working fine through Wine and all the training works, but I get booted when trying to play an online scenario. Anyone else have this prob and have a work around?

I believe PunkBuster is the problem. I haven't tried in a while, but last time I checked, PB didn't work in Wine.

BTW - There is a Linux native version of AA. I don't think it is as up to date as the Windows version, however.

Yeah, I have the linux version as well. I think PunkBuster works on that OK.

My main reasoning for using the XP version is becuase one of my brothers has XP with this game and hes running 2.8.3 and Im running 2.5 in linux so we cant see each others internet servers or games.

PB definitely works natively, but the problem is you are not running the native version, you are running the Windows version in Wine, which as of Wine 0.9.56, still doesn't work:
