    Installing Without A Disk Drive

I just got my hands on an old laptop with an external disk drive. Is there a way to install Ubuntu without it while wiping out my entire Windows OS? I don't have any big enough flash drive nor SD card. I do have an external firewire drive though, can I install from that?

You can, although you may have to tweak your bios to get it to read from 'removable storage'. If you have the Ubuntu ISO, extract the files and there should be some installation docs that tell you how to boot Ubuntu from usb devices in the doc folder.
