    Rhythmbox - Various Artists (Compilations)

Everything is working great in Ubuntu and Rhythmbox...just one gripe...

In amarok and iTunes you have the ability to create "various artist" groups by making compilations. So lets say you have a Greatest Hits of the 90s album and you have 10 different artists each with one song.

    - In Itunes/Amarok - they are grouped together as one album and the individual artist isn't shown in the iPod list, just the compilation album.

    - In Rhythmbox - each artist in the compilation is shown...so I end up with about 100 artists each with just one song!

Any thoughts? Is there such a feature? Perhaps something in the id3 tag...

    Thanks

I'm confused? Why not group the songs by album, that works for me.

    Thanks for the reply....

What do you mean by group by album?

If I were to search for artists wouldn't it still show each artist individually?

How long is it going to take them to fix this issue?

I suggest using Amarok. Amarok sorts any album with multiple artists into a "various artists folder" so you don't need to worry.

The default player is great but very basic , My wife and kids use it and love it But for me I need more depth so I use Songbird You may want to give it a try , Cheers.

Thanks for the update. Looks like a useful patch. But, I'm a diehard amarok user!
