    Angry ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode

    not sure if i put this in the right place as i just signed up..

    anyways here it gose

    i recently has a power serge but it worked fine now since i restarted it it has givin me two errors one of which i fixed but im stuck with this one now.
    "Ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode
    the following error was encountered you may need to update your configuration to slove this

    (EE) XKB: no components provided for device virtual core keybord"

    i have looked on google ut no help. all i can ever get to is the gterminal i cant see the desktop or anything just the terminal

    has this happenedto anyone or dose anyone know how to fix it i dont have a cd drive so i cant reinstall anything

    I get this problem today to! Sometimes I get simply a black screen. I restarted my computer several times until I get logged in. I'm using Kubuntu Karmic.

    Yesterday I received an update notification for sreadahead and ureadahead. Maybe these are causing the error?

    it wasn't the same for me

    i've installed some program and it did screwed everything up after i rebooted it was showing the "ubuntu is running in low-graphics mode"

    i've tried few things nothing worked

    however i did tried this

    sudo apt-get install --reinstall ubuntu-desktop

    it may remove some programs that you may have installed but that's nothing compare to reinstalling the whole system again

    I ave the same issue, installed an update three days ago and it just started. Does anyone have any ideas?

    did you lose all your media files too or not? just the extra programs that you had installed?
